My Journey from Architect to Dietitian
Before I became a dietitian, I worked as an architect in London. While I had always been interested in health and wellness, focusing on my diet and overall well-being took a backseat as I navigated the demands of a fast-paced, high-stress career. Long hours and constant stress eventually led to a turning point when I was diagnosed with IBS. This diagnosis opened my eyes to the importance of gut health and the need for a tailored approach to diet and lifestyle.
Like many others, the COVID-19 pandemic gave me the opportunity to pause and re-evaluate my priorities. I decided to leave my career as an architect and fully commit to my passion for nutrition, health, and well-being. This was when I began my formal education as a dietitian, choosing to specialize in the Low FODMAP diet and gut microbiome health.
Sports, Nature, and Finding Balance
Aside from my passion for nutrition and gut health, I’m an avid sports lover. Whether it’s yoga, cycling, climbing, hiking, dancing, or tennis (my absolute favorite!), staying active is a huge part of my life. I believe that movement not only helps to maintain physical health but also plays a huge role in reducing stress and keeping the gut functioning properly.
I’m also deeply connected to nature. Growing up in Tenerife, I was fortunate to be surrounded by natural beauty, and this love of the outdoors has stayed with me throughout my life. I’ve lived in Seville, London, Hong Kong, and Italy, and wherever I go, I seek out time in nature to relax, recharge, and stay grounded.
From Architect to Mom: Embracing New Roles
In addition to being a dietitian and a wellness enthusiast, I’m also a proud mom to a beautiful and funny little boy. Motherhood has added a new dimension to my life, and it has further fueled my passion for health and well-being. I want to lead by example for my son, showing him the importance of taking care of our bodies, eating nourishing foods, staying active, and finding balance in life.
Becoming a mother has also made me even more aware of the need for practical, easy-to-follow nutrition advice that works for busy people. I understand how hard it can be to juggle everything, and that’s why I’m committed to providing simple, actionable steps to help others improve their gut health without feeling overwhelmed.
